Auriga

Auriga builds electrically powered, on-demand hypersonic launch technology for space and defense applications.

We met Auriga's founder, Winnie, during an in-person workshop in Warsaw. She happened to be in Poland, and tonik team had just returned from San Francisco. Suddenly, the world felt very small.

Winnie showed up in a t-shirt with an astronaut on it and talked about her lifelong fascination with space: according to her words, what once felt out of reach is now very real. We couldn’t be more excited to support her on that out-of-this-world journey.

Auriga operates at the intersection of space launch and military defense. Its technology enables rapid, flexible, and weather-independent deployment, designed for real-world operational use. As the company expanded beyond commercial space into defense contexts, it faced a critical challenge: how to communicate one system across two highly specialized domains without splitting the narrative or the brand.

That’s where we came in.

BRAND POSITIONING

Auriga did not need a classic rebrand but clarity.

Their existing logotype remained unchanged and became the single fixed brand asset. Our approach focused on strategic repositioning through language, structure, and visual execution.

As the company evolved, its communication had to address both space and defense audiences with equal credibility. Rather than creating separate narratives, we anchored the brand in what the technology actually does: electrically powered, on-demand hypersonic launch. Space and defense became parallel applications of the same system.

From there, we established one unified brand voice and positioning - focused, precise, and confident. A structural shift followed. The symbol and the wordmark were separated, allowing them to function independently. This increased flexibility and clarity across applications without redesigning the logo itself.

Art Direction

Art direction became the primary vehicle for change.

Auriga provided a broad set of existing assets, including renders and visuals that varied in quality, color, and style. We built a visual system that unified and elevated what already existed. The language draws from real operational environments: technical interfaces, monitoring systems, terminal aesthetics, CCTV, and thermal imaging references. Grain, noise, and negative space act as unifying elements across the brand. Visually, the system connects Earth and space, creating a disciplined, technological aesthetic rooted in how the system actually operates.

Web Design

We treated interaction and motion as functional signals, not decoration. Every behavior reinforces ideas of precision, speed, and control. The experience includes a launch-inspired loader, terminal-style text loading, flickering navigation states, cursor transformations, and scroll-driven motion. Many visual effects, including grain and noise, are generated dynamically through code. The interface feels live and operational rather than staged. The site balances technical depth with atmosphere, communicating readiness through behavior.

The website doesn’t just explain Auriga’s capability. It demonstrates it.

Strong art direction was my compass. We crafted a visual experience that reflects Auriga’s technology: controlled, on-demand, and highly engineered. Reinterpreting existing assets and enforcing system-level consistency allowed design to shape a credible, future-facing product experience.

Client’s words

The Tonik team is highly professional and excels at their craft. Throughout our project, we iterated rapidly to develop a website that effectively represents our vision and the critical role our technology plays in the future of the space and defense industries. The branding is futuristic and aligns perfectly with both the nature of our product and the partners we work with.
